Seven Lines

Poor blog. I neglect you.

Anyway, I’m sure this is supposed to be posted on Facebook, but Rae Chang tagged me and I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone.

The rules:
Go to page 7 of your current work-in-progress.
Go to Line 7 on that page.
Post the next 7 lines as they are.
Tag 7 people to do the same.

So, here are seven lines from book two of the SWORN trilogy:

The elevator doors slid shut, and Cadoc swallowed. Seirian opened her mouth as if to ask if he was all right, then closed it. This close, Cadoc could see the fine gold scales that rimmed the lower lid of her eyes and glimmered on the back of her left wrist, just below the sleeve of her sweater.

“How did you find me?” she asked without inflection. “Where’s Kassa?”

“Rumors. I went to half a dozen children’s hospitals and heard that the Golden Lady had appeared in Chicago. Kassa is getting too old to chase you around.”

So, there are my lines. They won’t mean a thing unless you’ve read the first book, in which case they mean a great deal. Muahaha!

I tag Jenny Proctor, Charlie Holmberg, Caroline McDonough, and my ENTIRE writing group. Which is more than seven people, but I’m a rebel like that.
